The Cece & Juan Vignettes - Ch 4: The Best

Hey, loves. We're back for another installment for the Cece and Juan Vignettes. Do enjoy. And do you need to catch up? CHAPTER ONE CHAPTER TWO CHAPTER THREE * Chapter Four - The Best Cece POV Six years old ... "Well?" Juan asked. Cece looked over at him, her peripheral vision taking in everything else in her surroundings at the same time. The intricately designed carpet her grandmother had imported from Japan, and the table that rested upon it, acting as their current shelter and hiding spot from the rest of the dinner party. Well ... It wasn't like Cece didn't enjoy being out with the rest of her family when they had these things . She did, and she certainly enjoyed being the center of attention when it was all the adults in her family giving it to her. And then other times, the parties went on for hours . They talked and talked and talked more. About things she didn't understand, or stuff that just didn't interest her. And since this was when she was all...

Outtake: The Job #Camilla

Hey, loves! We're back for another outtake. Now, this one has been in the form for quite a while, and to the reader who requested this one, I apologize for the long wait but sometimes that is how the muse works. I write what it wants, and what it finds interest in. If you have an outtake request for me, feel free to drop it into the form HERE. * The Job A Camilla Outtake "Shhhh." Camilla's soothing hush had the small preemie in the domed bassinet settle enough that the heart rate monitor stopped beeping. She took a moment to check over the leads attached to the baby's chest with tiny heart-shaped stickers, and then jotted down a few notes into the file tucked into the shelf at the back of the bassinet. No changes, really. Nothing since the start of her twenty-four-hour shift. In the case of premature babies, but especially one like this baby who was still so small that his cry hadn't even developed yet and he cried without sound, no changes weren't exactly...

AMA - You Ask, Bethany Answers!

Hey, loves! We're back again for another AMA where I answer 3-5 of your burning questions as much as I possibly can. Do you have a question for me? Awesome. Drop it into the form HERE . Onto the questions for the week. * 1. Before I post it in the outtake form, I want to know whether it's possible to get snippets of Dare and Cree. Along the lines of romance, wit, fights. Anything really. They are almost all I think about after finishing the Renzo and Lucia books. Hi there. So this is kind of hard to say, because I really don't know. I have intentions of LIKELY writing something for The League in the future which means they will probably be showcased a lot given their status in the business, and ownership on one man's part. So I'm not sure they will specifically get a book, but I also know I don't want to just write things for them willy nilly when I very well might end up contradicting myself in a book at some time in the future. So that's something I have ...

The Cece & Juan Vignettes: Ch 3 - Her

Hey, loves! We’re back for another chapter of The Cece and Juan Vignettes. Do enjoy. Do you need to catch up? Find that here: CHAPTER ONE CHAPTER TWO * Chapter Three – Her Juan POV Five years old … “Juan, come see this bug!” Glancing over his shoulder to see one of his neighborhood friends bending over the sandbox at the park near his home, Juan didn’t move from his spot on the blanket. In the small patch of grass, he would rather be playing over there, but he was also just fine where he was. Mostly because— “Do you wanna?” Juan smiled at Cece. “Want to what?” “Play. With your friend.” He shrugged. “Nah, I’m okay.” Cece didn’t look like she believed him, but she went back to flicking her finger against the screen of her tablet, playing some bubble bursting game that she liked. She wasn’t a dirt and bugs kind of girl. She wore pretty dresses, shoes that clicked when she walked, and he couldn’t remember a time when her hair wasn’t perfect all the time . It was just who she was. And yet, ...

Outtake: The Neighbor #Naz #Cross

Hey, loves! We're back for another outtake, and it is one I have wanted to write for a while. Brought on from a specific chapter in the Naz and Roz Chronicles, it's been on the back of my mind, simmering and waiting for me to write it. So, do enjoy. The Neighbor Naz/Cross POV * "What did I tell you, kid?" Nazio sighed, and shrugged. "I didn't mean to kick it over there. Sorry, won't do it again." With his new soccer ball he'd gotten for easter dangling in the neighbor man's hands, way across the street where he wasn't allowed to go because his father told him not to, Nazio would say just about anything to get it back. He didn't see what the big deal was, though. It was just a ball . And he really did try not to kick it into the man's yard, mostly. He wasn't trying to be a shit. He just sometimes was . Or, that's what his grandpapa Calisto said. "No, I think I'll keep your ball for a couple of days. It'll teach...

Blog Series - The Cece & Juan Vignettes: Ch 2

Hey, loves! We're back for another chapter of The Cece and Juan Vignettes. As a reminder, at the end of every chapter there will be a couple hundred words written in first person POV, mine, interviewing the character. Since I did that with Catherine in the Companion, I thought it might be interesting to do that again but with Cece ... as she is her mother's child. Haha. Okay, onto the chapter. Do you need to catch up on The Cece and Juan Vignettes? CHAPTER ONE * Chapter Two - Juan Cece POV Three years old ... "I can't wait to see you, Cece." She grinned down at the face of her father staring back at her from the iPad in her lap. The car swayed as it took a turn in downtown Los Angeles, coming out of the roundabout which always made her dizzy after they went around a time or two, but she barely noticed it all while she spoke to her dad. "Tomorrow?" she asked. Cross nodded. "Around lunch." Good . She missed her da. "All right, give the table...
